The other day a Facebook post from a very successful network and internet marketer appeared in my feed. I met her in 2015. I learned a better way of handling my business finances from her trainings. Today I send people her way when I see she’s offering a new training - because her trainings are based on facts, she shares her real life experiences, and her pricing is reasonable.
The post? Oh right. Here it is:
It’s funny because she was a founding member of Empower Network. One of the first “learn internet marketing” systems, it was started by David Wood who approached her with the opportunity to be a founding member and she took it.
Why did it fail? Instead of offering a consistent affiliate commission it was set up as a network marketing company. The founding members (including David) came from network marketing. This means the compensation model trickled all the way up the ‘upline’. And, it changed a few times. Oh, and David Wood had a public mental breakdown showcased on social media.
Wait - now it’s back?
It looks like it is. I had to check it out. Not to join. But to see how it’s structured now. And to see the email copy, of course.
It’s a training portal. Filled with the trainings from when it was a multi-million dollar company. The trainings are excellent by the way. With much of it centered around network marketing as internet marketing. Not something I want or need but I wouldn’t turn anyone away from it. What I will caution you - and them - is this:
stated very clearly on the website is this…
Very enticing. Especially if someone had been a part of the network and knows that David Wood is very capable of attracting buyers and making 9 figures. It’s not for me.
Anyway, I don’t know the compensation plan. I don’t know if there is an affiliate offer. I’m not going to know unless I sign up. I’m not going to sign up.
What I am going to do is share with you the copy from the email that got my attention.
It’s an abandoned cart email - the popup didn’t ask me to subscribe, it asked for my email address to I could get access to the training. Then it went straight to the order form.
The email I received combines personalization with specificity and it’s powerful. See for yourself -
